Celebrate and honor our nation’s service members by helping build a Habitat for Humanity house on Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, November 11. There are opportunities to get involved in Blaine, St. Paul, and Shakopee.
Recognizing that Veterans are disproportionately affected by housing challenges, Twin Cities Habitat launched this initiative in 2012 and soon earned Yellow Ribbon accreditation. In the past three years, Twin Cities Habitat volunteers, working through A Brush with Kindness, have helped repair the homes of 34 Veterans and their families. In that same timeframe, five local Veteran families have completed the Homeownership Program and purchased Twin Cities Habitat homes.
