Shelter Housing Available for Homeless in Dakota County

The Dakota County Housing Unit, along with a Coalition of Community Housing Partners, has been working with local churches to offer free shelter housing for homeless individuals and families.

The emergency church shelters are temporary and will be moving from church to church, but will be located within Dakota County. There is no charge for the shelters and free transportation provided for people needing a ride. The current temporary shelter is at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burnsville but will be moving, effective December 23, to Spirit of Life Presbyterian Church in Apple Valley.

Anyone needing housing should contact the Dakota County Housing Crisis Line or Crisis Line at 651-554-5751 (option 1) or the Dakota County Crisis Line at 952-891-7171.

In addition, these shelters are looking for financial donations. They do not need blankets, clothes, etc. at this time. If you are interested in donating, you can contact the church or utilize the GoFundMe site at https://www.gofundme.com/dakcountyshelter?ssid=845107054&pos=1.
